Storm waves breaking Aroused to tumult Fickle wind chasing Whitened crests fleeing Whining and screaming Wild horses racing Hooves’ thundering,’  roaring Rage and beauty mingling Freedom its calling

Gull’™s strident calls Announce meals’  for the taking While other heart-beats are quaking With lust for the coloures Desires un-slackened A myriad hues of turquoise and blues Lost in its splendour To this’  I surrender

Spring And the voices are out The colours and the freshness all about The voice of the turtle dove The sowing of the trees This corner of paradise All out for me

The seasons, birds and other life too ‘ went to make me what I am From deep in the earth ‘ a cataclysmic force sent me to this grassy spot I, yes, of strange and unique shape a millennia of years ‘“ or was it two I’™ve waited for my beauty to be recognised ‘ So well it may be said I, too have a story to tell though spoken in words of deep silence

O’™ for a voice to express my grief my main branch’™s broken taken by a thief Some say that I’™m beautiful this way I’™ve so many things to say ‘ Spoken in silence One needs a heart to understand what’™s said by me in a work of art

Jerusalem’™s light its message of hope may it spread to fill men with reason some wisdom too to know that finite is to all things needing nurture, care, by me and you

From my flames new life burns A force of creation within me stirs From me a new tree grows Or, perhaps the bud of a rose ‘ Warmth, too, for a winter’™s night And with darkness I bring the light From all things solemn springs some good A Phoenix rising from what once here stood
