shoshana

Mervyn was married to Shoshana for 57 blessed years. Together they had three sons and seven grandchildren. All this time, he adored her and she was his source of inspiration as well as his support. This love was beautifully expressed in his poems in particular, but also in his paintings, short stories and many love letters and other love tokens he has given her over the years.
Shoshana was a unique person in her own right; a beacon of selfless giving matched by few. She passed away on March 16th, 2013, a few days after celebrating her 81st birthday.

Timeless Love

I fell in love with you then
And you were sweet and fair
The stars were dancing with us then
And fragrance filled the air

I fell in love with you again
The years have passed unseen
You’ve never changed to me, I vow
Though a silver strand I see anow
And tides are but a dream

I’ve fallen in love with you again
Though now we’ve grown old
I hold your hand as I did then
A tingle passes as did then
And time the thief will never win
E’en lips have grown cold.

WINE OF LIFE

What joy!
What joy!
I fill my lungs with pine-pure air
Not a care ‘“
I shout and laugh into the wind
A child again
A bird on its wing
I laugh again aloud and sing
Never wish to be another me
The pines drip the night’™s chill dew
So alive
With you
With you
